History

The Knights of Peter Claver is the largest predominately African American lay Catholic organization in the United States. The fraternal order of the Knights of Peter Claver was founded November 7, 1909 in Mobile, Alabama. The Ladies Auxiliary was authorized in August 1922.   Our Court was initiated in the early 1990s in Los Angeles, CA.

GOAL

The intent and purpose of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary is to render services to God, our church and our community. We strive to portray by example and deed the higher principles of Christian Womanhood and to promote Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity.

Activities

Our Court Ladies #259 remains active in the Church Community:

  • Active involvement in all of the Liturgical ministries
  • Various fundraising events for St. Brigid
  • Participation in activities at the District and National level

Our Order Membership in the Ladies Auxiliary is open to all practicing Catholic women age 18 or older.
